Milano Cortina Olympics 2026

Team GB head to Milano Cortina 2026 with genuine gold medal hopes, standout snow sport stars, and Olympic fashion in the spotlight as sport meets style on Italy’s slopes.

With the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina fast approaching (Feb 6–22), Team GB are quietly bullish about their prospects on the snow and ice. These Games, staged across Milan and the Alpine resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo, promise drama, fresh faces and what could be Britain’s most successful Winter Olympics ever.

Two of Britain’s brightest hopes for gold are Zoe Atkin and Mia Brookes. Atkin, the British-American freestyle skier who became 2025 World Champion in the halfpipe, has shown consistent top-level form on the World Cup circuit and is widely tipped as a medal contender in Italy.  Young snowboard superstar Mia Brookes is another major medal prospect: she claimed a World Championship slopestyle title as a teenager and dominated the 2025 World Cup season with multiple podiums.

Joining them is alpine ski legend Dave Ryding. While Britain has little tradition of golds in alpine skiing, Ryding—often dubbed the greatest British ski racer of all time—has delivered solid World Cup results and will be looking to cap his remarkable career with Olympic success in the slalom.  With UK Sport setting an ambitious target of 4–8 medals, there’s real optimism across snow sports as well as ice disciplines for this year’s British squad.

But the Winter Olympics are as much about style as sport. With Milan one of the fashion capitals of the world, the Games will also be a showcase for Olympic fashion. Ralph Lauren once again headlines the style stakes as the official outfitter for Team USA’s opening and closing ceremony uniforms, blending classic preppy details with modern winter aesthetics in red, white, and blue. Other brands and designers will also be visible around the Olympic Village and venues including EA7 Emporio Armani dressing Team Italy, as nations leverage fashion to express identity and heritage while athletes chase gold in Italy’s winter wonderland.

Whether it’s the thrill of Atkin’s halfpipe run, Brookes’ snowboard spins, Ryding’s slalom gates, or the parade of couture at the opening ceremony, Milano Cortina 2026 is gearing up to be a celebration of athletic and stylistic brilliance.
