Cannes '26 Red-Carpet

Cannes 2026 delivered a season of refined glamour, where sculptural couture, monochrome elegance and fearless silhouettes defined the red carpet.

The Cannes Film Festival once again proved why it remains the pinnacle of red-carpet glamour, with this year’s fashion delivering a masterclass in modern couture. Against the backdrop of the French Riviera, stars embraced sculptural silhouettes, monochrome elegance and dramatic embellishment, all while navigating Cannes’ increasingly refined dress code.

Demi Moore delivered one of the festival’s standout moments in a striking black-and-white gown featuring an elongated satin scarf detail that felt both cinematic and sophisticated. The look captured the return of minimalist glamour dominating this year’s carpet — sharp tailoring softened by fluid movement. Moore’s statuesque styling reminded everyone why understated drama often has the biggest impact.

Penélope Cruz opted for timeless elegance in a sleek black one-shoulder gown adorned with feathered accents. The silhouette was pure old Hollywood, but the asymmetrical neckline and daring slit gave it contemporary edge. Cruz consistently understands the Cannes assignment: effortless glamour with just enough theatricality to command attention without overwhelming the wearer.

Bella Hadid, meanwhile, continued her reign as Cannes’ ultimate fashion risk-taker. Her appearances this year leaned into archival inspiration and vintage glamour, with fitted silhouettes and subtle nods to ‘90s supermodel style. One of her standout looks — a dramatic ivory lace gown with a plunging neckline — balanced sensuality with couture craftsmanship, perfectly reflecting the festival’s renewed fascination with monochromatic dressing.

Alexa Chung brought a refreshing sense of cool-girl polish to the Riviera. While many attendees embraced overt glamour, Chung leaned into understated sophistication, favouring clean lines, delicate fabrics and impeccable styling. Her look felt quintessentially British: relaxed, intelligent and impossibly chic.

Anja Rubik also embraced minimalism, stepping onto the carpet in a fluid silver-and-midnight gown with a dramatic black bow detail. The styling was intentionally restrained, allowing the craftsmanship and movement of the dress to take centre stage. It was a reminder that Cannes fashion is increasingly shifting away from excess and toward precision.

And then there was Eva Longoria, who injected pure classic Hollywood energy into the festival with a dazzling red sequinned gown that radiated confidence and glamour. Form-fitting and unapologetically bold, it stood out amid the season’s neutral palette and proved that maximalism still has its place on the Cannes carpet.
