The Emory, a new all-suite hotel by Maybourne, has opened in Belgravia, introducing a unique standard of “quiet luxury” to London. Designed by RSHP architects Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour, The Emory’s modern structure features distinctive “sails” that rise above Hyde Park. A private entrance on Old Barrack Yard leads to the hotel’s striking interiors, highlighted by a steel staircase painted in “Richard Rogers Pink”—a nod to Rogers’ influence. Harbour describes The Emory’s design as “watchmaking on a grand scale,” with a visible steel skeleton that emphasises precision and timelessness.

Interior designer Rémi Tessier has crafted the public spaces, blending warmth and modernity with materials that complement the glass façade. The hotel offers 61 spacious suites, including a 300-square-meter glass penthouse by Rigby & Rigby. Each suite is curated by renowned designers like Patricia Urquiola and Andre Fu, each contributing distinctive aesthetics while creating an intimate and luxurious atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the rooms with natural light, fostering a connection between guests and the surroundings.

The Emory’s culinary experiences are led by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who introduces his celebrated abc kitchen concepts from New York. The restaurant’s interiors, designed by Tessier, feature polished copper, wood accents, and a striking Rosso Orobico marble installation, complemented by artwork from Damien Hirst. The Emory Bar, also designed by Tessier, boasts a stained-glass installation by artist Brian Clarke and an outdoor courtyard accessed via retractable glass doors.
